Electron beam & γ-ray induced eco-friendly synthetic route
Research on layered transition-metal hydroxide materials has received considerable attention in recent years due to the potential applications of these materials as catalysts, supports, anion adsorbents, magnetic materials and ion exchangers, as well as high-performance electrode materials of alkaline secondary batteries and supercapacitors We developed a novel synthetic route to prepare metal hydroxide with intercalated nitrate anions. It was successfully synthesized using the electron beam or γ-ray irradiation at room temperature under atmospheric conditions without any stabilizer or base molecules.
